Work has been insane this week. It makes me glad I don’t really work here, or I’d be staying awake nights over this stuff. As it is, I’m already staying awake nights, so I won’t be needing any more of that, thank you.<\/p>\nThis morning, I was running even later than usual (this hurts me in my soul, as I am a perpetually early-to-on-time person, and believe it to be extremely inconsiderate to be late). I didn’t make my lunch, and I did the nearly-unthinkable and skipped coffee. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dunn Brothers has put out an APB on me by now. That was kind of a bad idea, because today was all about work acrobatics. Look! I can dangle by one foot from the ceiling while rewriting this entire page! I can do backflips while rebuilding stored procs from memory! Fire me from a cannon! NOW!<\/p>\nAhem. However! I still like this contract a lot. I realized this yesterday when I got an email from someone who’s recruited me successfully in the past. He was offering up an 8-week gig designing user interfaces and functional requirements. It’s the kind of stuff that pays on the order of what lawyers make, and involves many meetings and no<\/i> code at all. He asked if he could ‘financially convince’ me to not renew my contract here.
