I keep thinking maybe I should update and tell you about the various things hereabouts, but the longer I go without updating, the more the things pile up, to the point where even if I wanted to write it all, I couldn’t possibly do so without significant effort. And right now, you don’t deserve significant effort; you’ll get it when I get the money you owe me. Also, I’m worried about running out of time on my xmas knitting.<\/p>\n

Someone asked me about my readership the other day, which got me wondering about the usage differential between this here website and this here website’s RSS feed. So I did some fancy-pants reporting and found out that almost half the daily usage is via RSS. On the one hand, I’m glad it’s there. Like, the fact I have this on my lj friends list is kinda funny. On the other hand, it divorces pure content from all of its lovely accoutrements, and by ‘lovely’, I mean ‘annoying’. That says something about the interweb, you know. I’ll let you figure out what.<\/p>\n

While you’re working on that, I am going to make a list of the user-tracking features I want added to the half-assed referrer\/search-term reports I wrote back in the day, and I’m going to do what any self-respecting web developer would do: email them to Bertine to implement. Haha. I rule! Actually, she volunteered her time. I’m known for making simple, functional, user-friendly interfaces for clients so that they never ever have to touch scary, dirty data, and notorious for doing the complete opposite for myself: I make everything as hard as possible. I am the original web-masochist.<\/p>\n
