Why, hello there.<\/p>\n

Finally, photos! I know this is a ton, but I’ve had requests for the full-scale tour. I believe at one point in the past I declared myself a photodocumentary journalist<\/a>, so you know… I do what I can.<\/p>\n

living room 1<\/a><\/b>
I installed this coat-hook thing on the wall behind the front door. I’m proud of any project involving power tools, no matter how small. I didn’t take a picture of inside that closet because the cats have bathroom privacy issues.<\/p>\n

No joke! When we were kids, my mom took a picture of Smokey in the catbox (why? I dunno) and he wouldn’t poop after that. She had to take him to the vet.<\/p>\n

Uh, moving on.<\/p>\n

living room 2<\/a><\/b>
The cat formerly known as Chloe floor-grazing, with Chiva holding down the boxes of books I need to get bookshelves for. On the chair you can kinda see the mohair throw I just finished. It’s beautiful. The pussywillows are done by local artist Amy Rice<\/a>, one of the pieces I picked up a couple weekends ago. I wish I knew who created the giant pocketknife, as this person is clearly a genius and deserves much love.<\/p>\n

Also, I have star lights in the windows. One inward-facing, the other four outward in both sets of windows. I’m festive as all hell.<\/p>\n

living room 3<\/a><\/b>
Chiva doing her prairie dog imitation, Sam still grazing. The piece over the couch is by Yuri<\/a>. I need new lamps.<\/p>\n

One of my favorite places is that sunny spot, knitting.<\/p>\n

dining room \/ kitchen<\/a><\/b>
I forgot to get a picture of the other built-in with the weinermobile collection and such. Well, you’ve seen it before. This one has the knockman collection and the voodoo shit from Memphis and the Deng Xiao Ping clock and all that stuff I love like crazy.<\/p>\n

On the fridge near pirate kitty is the housewarming-drawing by Dahms.<\/p>\n

dining room 2<\/a><\/b>
The xmas tree, which you have also seen before, and the present-drought that reminds me I still have to finish shopping. The prints you can’t see well on the wall are the ones I bought ever-so-long-ago<\/a> by Sean Tubridy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

nty: I’m not bringing the other boxes over here; they’ll stay at the folks’ til Thursday when I make short work of them. I can’t wait.<\/p>\n

kitchen 2<\/a><\/b>
Linoleum countertops are hot. I’m not supposed to know this, but the parents got me a microwave for xmas. I asked for stainless. By the way, that’s another piece by Yuri framed on the counter.<\/p>\n

That’s the bathroom door on the right, then the bedroom with one of the darker-colored cats on the bed. I’m guessing Cocoa. And another Sean Tubridy print!<\/p>\n

…and my silly-ass weekend hair. Which is a different color than usual, as you may not have noticed. Also, new nipple<\/strike>earrings.<\/p>\n

I need to put up a towel bar and a shelf in there before it makes me crazy. I wish you could see the cute little plastic laundry hanging on a line in the window. Cute! I swear.<\/p>\n

Yes, I did hang the ten commandments in my bathroom. Hopefully the family christians won’t notice.<\/p>\n

my linen closet<\/a><\/b>
I’m guessing what this says about me is that I’m a control freak, and also I shop at Target.<\/p>\n

bedroom 1<\/a><\/b>
Sam is too fat to move the remaining foot to reach her catnip toy.<\/p>\n

bedroom 2<\/a><\/b>
Chinese flashcards, the periodic table of hardware, Brian Andreas print, my favorite photos, and a museum plaque. And my xmas wrapping-supplies at the ready.<\/p>\n

bedroom 3<\/a><\/b>
The cats choose to fight on top of the xmas presents. I may have mentioned they’re assholes.<\/p>\n

bedroom 4<\/a><\/b>
Another successful venture involving power tools. I have a wire mounted on the outside walls, with these embroideries suspended by metal clips about an inch from the wall. I love<\/i> it. I was originally planning on embroidering on sheer panels and using this for curtains, but this is much, much better. FYI: Panamanian, Mexican, Hmong, and Indian. Want more.<\/p>\n

bedroom closet<\/a><\/b>
After three rounds of donations, I’m down to about half the clothes I used to own. The closet is still pretty packed with other crap. Crap I like, that is. I wasn’t aware of how much crafty stuff I had (I have a few big plastic containers of things designated for nebulous ‘projects’). Against the back wall is my ‘yarn suitcase’; once it’s full, I’m not allowed to buy any more yarn until I produce things with it. Luckily, I just gave away the stuff I’ll never use, so I’m free to buy once again.<\/p>\n

This is exactly like my domain-buying rule, as well. All my domains must be in use before I get a new one. I have just purchased queenofsubtle.com, and it will be my knitting blog.<\/p>\n

Stop rolling your eyes right this second, mister.<\/p>\n

We went out for a while tonight, and nobody’s out because it’s SO DAMN COLD. We’ve been really spoiled thus far this winter. Still, if there’s no snow for Christmas I’m going to… um… be so pissed I write about it on the internet?<\/p>\n
