So here’s the deal. Say there were these domains, such as plinko.net<\/a>, chocolatemussolini.com<\/a>, creamedpeas.com<\/a>, 404lab.com<\/a>, runawaytruck.com<\/a>, jenniripley.com<\/a>, bad2worse.com<\/a>, and queenofsubtle.com<\/a>.Is that all of them? I think so, apart from the hosted ones. Anyway! Say that one person got all the email sent to unassigned addresses within those domains. The catch-all, as it’s known. Say that person was me. I would find it a little irritating after a while to be receiving 10,000 (give or take) emails a day, most of them offering to increase the volume of my ejaculation.<\/p>\n

And you know? I’m not all that concerned about the volume of my ejaculation. It’s just fine the way it is.<\/p>\n

Therefore I have deleted the catchall, and all the accompanying email. There are only two ways to email me as of this very moment: my personal address, which you will find on my contact page<\/a> (if i type it here any more than I already have, it’ll just get all googled and such), and the generic webmaster address, which I am too old-fashioned to delete. Every good admin can be contacted using ye olde webmaster address; that is the third rule of Internet Club.<\/p>\n

There will be problems for a while, since I make use of many, many email addresses to identify the souce depending on the site. If I have time this evening, I will seek out those emails and eradicate them. I probably won’t have time, however, as I will be drooling on my new computer. I’d go get it right this second, but my horoscope told me to not leave work early today. Smart, that horoscope! It must know about my tax bill.<\/p>\n

And, uh, what I’m trying to say with this rambling is simply this: if you email me at something other than my personal address, I will not receive it. Your message will disappear into the gaping void of the internet. If you do<\/i> email me at my personal address and I don’t respond, it’s either because I’m busy and haven’t gotten around to it yet, or I hate you.<\/p>\n

Really, the odds are on ‘busy’, but I like that you’ll wonder.<\/p>\n
