Our trip to Jamaica was incredible, and I’m already trying to figure out when we can go back. I’m pretty sure this is the first time in the history of vacations that I returned feeling totally relaxed and refreshed; Matt and I tend to run around and exhaust ourselves completely when we travel. So even the snowstorm and work being insane… eh, it’s not really bothering me at all.<\/p>\n

It helps that we have some more awesome trips coming up. Most of our group has booked a hotel (Treasure Island) and rental cars for Vegas for my birthday in June, and Matt and I are planning on having a fancy dinner one night and seeing Absinthe at Caesar’s<\/a>. American Express was kind enough to send a pass for free entry to their airport lounges for the rest of the year, so we’ll probably go drink cocktails in the shower at McCarran, too. It seems like a good way to end a long weekend in Vegas.<\/p>\n

We sat down last night and reviewed our frequent-flyer status so we can figure out later trips as well. The decision was to use one free ticket for a trip to Key West with Matt’s parents this fall (we’ll probably fly into Ft Lauderdale or Miami, then drive down the Keys), and another free ticket for San Juan next February. Puerto Rico in particular can be a pretty expensive flight when you don’t have much date flexibility, so I’m pretty happy with that result. That’s basically getting both trips for half-price.<\/p>\n

In other VERY exciting news (to me only, and possibly my husband), I’m having my implants installed today. (Teeth, that is.) I had the first one extracted in horrible nightmarish fashion in November 2011, so this has been a long time (and a lot of money) coming.<\/p>\n

I also seem to be experiencing some kind of food poisoning (our theory is that it’s from Trader Joe’s sprouts, since that’s the only thing I ate Sunday that Matt didn’t), but since I’m not puking or dying it’s hard to be too upset about it.
