My mom made me The Brick (my traditional sugarfree birthday cake), and we ordered out. In a very surprising turn of events, they gave me money to put towards my skydiving outing. I think my mom was just happy I wasn&#8217;t getting another tattoo for my birthday.<\/p>\n<p \/>The best part? Kaye and Wendy came over to celebrate, and sat around talking to my parents. My friends rock really fucking hard, dudes.<\/p>\n<p \/>When I got home last night, I discovered that <a href='http:\/\/www.chocolatemussolini.com\/cm\/images\/miguelbox.jpg' target='miguel'>MIGUEL GOT A BIRTHDAY PRESENT TOO<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p \/>The contents include:<br \/>1 Business card case with Mini cards to hand out to folks<br \/>2 The roadside assistance card that means I don&#8217;t have to pay for AAA anymore<br \/>3 &#8216;Idiosyncracies of your new Mini&#8217;, which I already knew from reading the manual because I&#8217;m like that<br \/>4 The MINI MESSAGING KIT, which has a bunch of pre-written signs in it (I have my favorite one showing, of course)<br \/>5 The Unauthorized Owner&#8217;s Manual, which includes a section on HOW TO MAKE OUT IN THE BACKSEAT OF MIGUEL<br \/>6 Two interstate bingo cards<br \/>7 A travel journal<br \/>8 A floaty pen with a little Mini driving from California to New York.<\/p>\n<p \/>So, um, was Miguel the perfect car for me or what? Hell yes.<\/p>\n<p \/>This morning, Suzanne came running into work with birthday-fixin&#8217;s, so it wouldn&#8217;t be surprising at all to find me sitting at my desk in about an hour, eating sugarfree ice cream with a giant spoon directly from the container. Apparently we&#8217;re ordering lunch, then later going to happy hour at Kieran&#8217;s. And after that? Dinner at Chiang Mai, then party on the rooftop deck at Stella&#8217;s. Tomorrow, we&#8217;re heading to the party-cabin for the weekend. I&#8217;ll save the details about all of this awesomeness til afterwards, but I already know that spending the whole weekend with almost all of my very favorite people in the world is going to be the best birthday I could possibly ever want.
