This has been a very exciting week for everyone. And the first time in forever that I’ve actually been excited about the next administration. Hopefully the general goodwill goes a long way.<\/p>\n
I voted before work on election day, and despite reports of ridiculous lines at the polls, I was on my way to work within 45 minutes. I did a big client upgrade at 4pm, finished in record time, and then it was time for the election party<\/a> at Ryan’s house.<\/p>\nWe arrived with themed food (the best was Cindi’s Sloppy Joe(s) the Plumber) and our contribution to the contest; entry was a $10+ bottle of booze, so I brought Georgia Moon Corn Whiskey, mainly because it’s sold in a mason jar. Ryan, Nick, and Chris had set up nothing less than an election command center<\/a>. It was impressive.<\/p>\nAs CNN announced that Obama had won, we broke out the champagne. There was a lot of crying. It was awesome, and worth being really, really tired the next day.<\/p>\nAlso this week, I went to see Mahogany for a haircut, went to physical therapy and got a 20-minute shoulder massage (drool), bowled far better than usual (two of my games were over 110!), and Matt and I put up a bunch of artwork in our house, making it look much more complete. Also, due to the wonder that is Craigslist, someone came over at 5 last night and took all the boxes from our garage. The few that were too beat-up to use he broke down, tied with twine, and put out by our trash can. That is seriously awesome.<\/p>\nTonight and tomorrow, the unbeaten, #1-in-the-WCHA Gophers are playing the #1-in-Hockey-East New Hampshire. I can’t wait for faceoff.
