Yep, that’s a poop notebook. We found it near our campsite.<\/p>\n
Camping was great. We were a little worried about not camping in Wisconsin, the land of anything-goes-as-long-as-no-one-dies, but our fears were unfounded. The funniest part is that the group sites are billed as ‘primitive’. I would argue, though, that ‘primitive’ does not include nearby water spigots and flush toilets a few hundred feet away. Apparently we’re really roughing it in Wisconsin with our shared water pump and pit toilets?<\/p>\n
It was cold at night, but that’s still preferable to being in the 90s. Nobody wants to sit around the campfire and sweat.<\/p>\n
On the way back, we stopped to wander all over the Franconia Sculpture Garden with Wendy, Bill, and Katie. Then Matt and I moseyed our way back down highway 95, stopping to climb down to the river north of Stillwater. Over on the Wisconsin side, we noticed a bunch of tents set up all along the beach. We have <\/em>to find out more about that.<\/p>\n In Stillwater, we stopped for lunch at Smalley’s Caribbean Barbeque<\/a>. I cannot even express how awesome it is. It’s probably a good thing it’s so far away, or we’d live there and I’d probably fall into the river drunk and float down to the Gulf of Mexico.<\/p>\n On second thought, that’s not really a bad thing.<\/p>\n I have many photos to come. 46 days and counting til our next camping adventure!<\/p>\n P.S.
