Thanks to a fairly lazy Sunday and some time last night, I caught up! I&#8217;m on page 242 now, almost 25% of the way through the book.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m enjoying it a lot. I&#8217;m not sure why I was so annoyed the first time I tried to read it. It takes a while to be able to read his style easily, but I&#8217;m there now. Also, I love that he was obviously obsessed with <em>A Clockwork Orange<\/em>, which is one of my favorite books ever, re:<\/p>\n<p>1) dystopian<\/p>\n<p>2) I speak Russian, so the slang is especially fascinating<\/p>\n<p>I was bothered by one thing in <em>Infinite Jest<\/em> so far:<\/p>\n<p>1) he spelled &#8216;Monistat&#8217; wrong. I dunno, maybe it&#8217;s intentional.<\/p>\n<p>The problem with cramming almost 100 pages of intense reading into the last two days is that I&#8217;m dreaming about it all night. You know how he keeps talking about &#8216;fugues&#8217;?
