Last night, Matt and I saw Anvil at the Parkway. If you loved hair metal (and who didn’t?), see it. It’s fantastic.
I intentionally got up an hour earlier this morning so I could work a half-day and get on the road. We have plans to go rescue Lauren from work at 1am tonight, and tomorrow we’re going to see Team USA take on Honduras in the world cup qualifier at Soldier Field. I’m thrilled about this for many reasons, including:
– Though I grew up in Chicago, I’ve never been to Soldier Field
– I’ll get to see Tim Howard up close (and, you know, Landon Donovan, Jozy Altidore, Freddy Adu, Clint Dempsey… yeah, mostly Tim Howard)
– Apparently it’ll be a huge crowd. I didn’t expect that, since we have tickets very near the pitch.
– It’s probably the only time in my life I’ll be comfortable yelling “USA!” or waving a flag.
See you Monday! Which, conveniently, happens to be my birthday.
